Telemedicine

Cardiology Associates of West Texas is proud to offer our patients the option to receive certain consultations via Telemedicine!

Cardiology Associates of West Texas - Telemedicine

A strong doctor-patient relationship is the foundation for high-quality patient care and reducing health care costs. Dr. Leon and his staff have implemented a telemedicine portal to support, not replace, certain traditional in-office consultations. Using this portal allows Dr. Leon to offer remote consultations for follow up visits, check-ups, prescription refills, and more when appropriate.

What is Telemedicine?

Telemedicine is the use of telecommunications technology to provide real-time health care to patients from the convenience of their home. These virtual visits are in place of a traditional visit to the clinic.

How is Telemedicine Delivered?

Telemedicine can be delivered using video-conferencing, audio communication, and/or text-messaging using mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers. Cardiology Associates of West Texas has a user-friendly, HIPAA compliant video conference portal to communicate with our patients. Patients can access our telemedicine features from any iPhone or computer with a web camera and Google Chrome.

Our process is very simple

  1. Set up an appointment by calling us at 325-944-1240
  2. You will be emailed or text messaged a link to our virtual portal.
  3. When it is time for your appointment, open the link on your phone or computer.
  4. When Dr. Leon is ready, the telemedicine visit will begin and your device will automatically be redirected.

It’s that simple!

What can telemedicine be used for?

Dr. Leon offers telemedicine as an alternative for any consultation-based office visit. This includes but is not limited to follow up visits, check-ups, prescription refills, general cardiac or vascular consultations, and more. For more specific information please call us at 325-944-1240.

Where can telemedicine be provided?

Telemedicine can be provided to a patient at home or work, or at another clinic or elsewhere. Now with mobile devices, you can be anywhere with access to the internet.
